Any competitors who are not provided with a physical ID card by their service must contact the EMFC team in advance of the competition to determine how to verify identity on race day. Please contact us as early as possible if you think this situation applies to you in order to
give us plenty of time to find a solution.

Unfortunately not, the EMFC* is only for operational and retired firefighters. *the EMFC and BFC series events are for operational and retired firefighters, with the exception of sponsored corporate races, or “have a go capacity”, these individuals may run the course
in a more limited capacity.

In some exceptional circumstances, we may be able to allow this depending on the number of competitors on each day. You must contact us in advance to try and arrange this and please remember that this does create an additional workload for the EMFC volunteers so please try and make yourself available for the day you chose at online registration.

The race day registration team will check your details and amend any genuine errors that may have been made during online registration, however, competitors will not be permitted to alter their chosen category on the day of their race.

No, please refer to permitted PPE. Any competitors found not to be wearing the correct PPE during or after their race will be disqualified. Please be aware that PPE checks are carried out throughout the events.

Yes, all competitors are informed if they have been disqualified prior to them signing their referee sheet. This is the opportunity to raise an appeal, this must be raised at the time not retrospectively and the head referee will determine a final outcome in discussion with the
referees and competitor. Please be aware the referee’s decision is final and any unsportsmanlike behaviour will result in disqualification and a potential ban from the competition.

To ensure the safety of all competitors and spectators at BFC events, no unauthorised drones to be flown over the competition space.

Any competitors or spectators found to be in breach of this rule will be disqualified from the competition and will have to leave the area. The flyer will also be reported to the relevant authorities for breach of the safe practices set out in the UK Civil Aviation Authority Drone Code.

In certain circumstances the event team may give permission for a drone to fly in specific areas. However, this must be agreed in writing in advance with the organisers and the drone operator must be able to evidence their flyer ID and compliance with the relevant codes and regulations set out by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. Any non-adherence to the permissions given will result in permissions being retracted and may result in the flyer being reported to the relevant authorities.
